Aztec Food

 (Source: Huffington Post)

I took a class called “Aztec Empire/ Spanish Conquest” the fall of my sophomore year, and I am glad that I took it as I learned many things about Aztec culture that I never knew. I was particularly fascinated learning about Aztec food, the methods they used for preparation, the common ingredients they used and their significance, and the roles that members of society were assigned in their food system. Aztec codices show many images of food such as these two, and corn is particularly showed as it was an item of worship. Even in modern Mexico, many practices have not changed in comparison to what is shown in the codices. I see so much beauty.
